Fundamentals of Construction Project Management

Course Description
This is a hands-on course for beginning and experienced Project Mangers as well as those seeking to advance their careers in the construction industry.

Course curriculum addresses all phases of construction project management for successful project completion and meets or exceeds all objective criteria for cost, schedule and performance from receipt of order through close-out and warranty.

Areas of focus are for construction contract/subcontract projects with emphasis on:

  • Project management process
  • Project leadership
  • Schedule development
  • Cash flow
  • Team building
  • Standardization of documents and best practices

Course content includes light reading assignments and at least one complete “mock” group construction project planning and scheduling exercise.

Prerequisites
Students should be experienced in a building or road construction related trade specialty, or, architecture/engineering/design occupation.  However, this course does not focus on any one field and has broad appeal for students at all levels of the construction industry.
